Celebrate game day with this fun, festive, and easy football snack tray full of veggies and small savory bites. It’s a great addition to a party spread but also just makes a fun treat for the family to turn watching your team into a special occasion.

Here for the football, or for the food.
Whether you’re a rabid fan of the home team or just showing up for the food or the spectacle of it all, this easy and fun football-inspired snack tray is sure to please. With my beloved Steelers falling out of contention rather early this year, and all the other teams that pique my family’s interest falling suit soon after, we’re certainly in it for the snacks and the spectacle at this point, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with it, right?
As usual with this type of board, the key is to be flexible, pick a theme, and then get creative with on-theme foods that your family or guests actually like. There’s no point rounding things out with something cute or in the right color if no one is going to eat it. For this board, I went with browns to mimic the football, of course, and greens for the surrounding “field.” Simple, easy, and cute!
Pro Tip
Set the stage for this fun board and the rest of your game day spread with a turf table runner. No quicker, more affordable way to make a bold impact and it would also be great for any golf, spring, or soccer-themed gathering.

What’s On This Board
Here is everything included on this board:
- Ritz-style crackers.
- Mozzarella cheese sticks for the “laces.” I cut these in half lengthwise so that one side would be flat and stay in place more easily.
- Mini pretzels. Make your own honey mustard pretzels for a flavor-packed twist.
- Pepperoni slices.
- Pre-sliced Gouda and cheddar cheese. My kids just love “square cheese” and who am I to deny their joy?
- Cucumber slices.
- Shishito peppers. These are raw, which leaves them more mild, but it’s fun to serve them “blistered” in a hot cast iron skillet as well.
- Green grapes.
- Trader Joe’s “Inner Peas”, a crunchy, salty snack that I swear mimics the texture and salty effect of ruffled potato chips.
In bowls and around the side are some sugar snap peas, peanut butter-filled pretzels, and cherry tomatoes. My son was inspired to use pretzels and tomatoes to spell out “NFL” and “Super Bowl LIX” on supplementary boards, which he proudly staged in the background. He’s a keeper. 🙂
More Game Day Eats
Serve this with some homey beef and bean chili or crockpot BBQ chicken sandwiches for an easy main dish, and classic sides like chips and blender salsa, guacamole, BBQ bacon-wrapped chicken bites, pinto bean nachos, pepperoni pizza flatbreads, and a great sun-dried tomato dip go a long way.
