Today I’m sharing the most adorable, fun, and quick treat that’s so simple to whip up with or for your kiddos for St. Patrick’s Day.

Rolo pretzel candy is a pretty classic semi-homemade confection that involves nothing more than a warmed Rolo gently pressed in between two bite-sized pretzels. By themselves, these are great for any quick celebration, but dip them in extra chocolate and finish with seasonal sprinkles for a festive treat suited for any holiday, big or small.

Ingredient & Substitution Notes

Here are a few notes and shopping tips about the ingredients you’ll need. Find full amounts in the print-friendly recipe card below.

  • Miniature pretzels. These can be any shape: traditional, circle, or square.
  • Rolo candies. The chocolate covered caramel classic. You’ll need one Rolo for every candy.
  • Dipping chocolate or almond bark. I used a small tub of white chocolate melts specially designed and sold for dipping, but you can use any type of wafers, candy melts, or almond bark. Feel free to experiment between dark chocolate, semi-sweet, white, and colorful melts, too, as you like.
  • St. Patrick’s-themed sprinkles. Grab the exact sprinkle blend used for the batch shown here, or this mix is another cute option.

How To Make It

This is a quick overview; find more details in the print-friendly recipe card below.

  1. Unwrap all the Rolos. This is the most time-consuming part!
  2. Arrange a single layer of pretzels on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and place one Rolo on top of each pretzel.
  3. Bake at 250 degrees F for just about 3 minutes, until the Rolos are shiny and softened.
  4. Remove from the oven and gently press another pretzel on top of each Rolo. You should have a small Rolo-pretzel sandwich.
  5. Set aside to cool for at least 30 minutes, until fully set, or speed things up in the refrigerator.
  6. Melt dipping chocolate and lightly dip one side of each pretzel candy into, then lightly top with sprinkles. Leave at room temperature for another 10 minutes or so, until set.

Storage

Keep this candy tightly covered at room temperature for up to a week, or in the fridge for up to 4 weeks.
