Frozen Mango Lemonade
Frozen Mango Lemonade is delicious, refreshing, and fun for a unique summer treat! It’s also a breeze to make — five minutes, three ingredients — and easily adjusted to be more tart or more sweet.
A Fresh Frozen Treat!
This frozen mango lemonade is so simple to make, thanks to the beauty of frozen mango chunks, which are available in most major grocery stores. Yet if you ask me, each glass tastes like a tropical slushie you could enjoy poolside or on a Caribbean beach. We usually just serve this as a treat in the backyard — but a girl can dream, no?
This is designed to serve right away. As the lemonade melts, some pulp from the mango will become noticeable and can be a distracting texture. This isn’t the end of the road, though; if you have fully thawed lemonade, consider pouring it through a fine mesh strainer to remove the pulp, then enjoy like any other juice or summer ade.
Ingredient Notes
- Frozen mango chunks: the easy key to making this so quick and simple. Look for these in your freezer aisle with other frozen berries and fruits.
- Fresh lemon juice: this makes such a difference to giving lemonade a vibrant, tart taste.
- Granulated sugar: mango is naturally very sweet, so a small amount of sugar goes a long way to enhance this frozen drink. I usually add 2 Tablespoons per batch; feel free to experiment with adding less or swapping in coconut sugar, honey, agave, or another sweetener of your choice.
- Water: OK this is technically a fourth ingredient, but it’s water!
Pro Tip
If you want to make this an “adult” lemonade, replace up to 1/3 cup of the water with vodka or gin. Be careful: most of my taste-testers say they don’t taste it at all.
How To Make Frozen Mango Lemonade
Combine all ingredients in a high-powered blender (I love my refurbished Vitamix) and blitz until smooth. If you have any doubt about how much sugar to add, start with 1 Tablespoon only.
Sample one small sip, then add more sugar to taste. If the lemonade is already too sweet for your tastes, add more lemon juice, one or two small squeezes at a time. Blend again to incorporate evenly.
Serve with a smile!
Lemon wedges and striped or patterned paper straws make a fun garnish. Care to fancy it up a bit? A leaf of fresh mint or basil on top is pretty and herbaceous.
Yield
This recipe yields 3-4 small glasses of lemonade as written, with 2 cups mango. I’d make this as written as an afternoon treat for myself and my kids. If serving guests or a larger crowd, definitely double it. Simply increase all amounts 2x; no other changes are needed.

Some other drinks I might whip up for a special occasion include this sparkling mint limeade, sparkling raspberry lemonade, or a red white and blue frozen lemonade for a patriotic celebration.
My kids, on the other hand, just go crazy for mango. If I can manage to use some before they’ve gobbled it all up plain, I’ll make my favorite mango avocado salsa to serve with blackened fish or jerk chicken, or skewer big chunks onto pork pineapple kabobs.

Notes
- Non-frozen lemonade? This is designed to drink right away, frozen like a slushie. If you have extra and store it in the fridge, the flavor will be the same, but some pulp from the mango will become discernible. To drink it as a non-frozen lemonade after this point, I suggest straining the liquid through a fine mesh strainer, then drinking.
- Yield? 3-4 glasses. I’d make this as written (with 2 cups mango) as an afternoon treat for myself and my kids, but if serving guests or a larger crowd, definitely double it. Simply increase all amounts 2x; no other changes needed.
- Adult variation? If you want to make this an “adult” lemonade, replace up to 1/3 cup of the water with vodka or gin.
